Terry & Tub earns a commission on some links to Amazon, at no extra cost to you. Links to brands we have no affiliate arrangement with earn us nothing, and those are labeled on the page. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

When a product on this site has a buy button, clicking it takes you through a short redirect on our own domain and then to the retailer. If you buy something during that visit, the retailer may pay us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly.

Every earning link is marked `#ad` on the page and carries `rel="sponsored nofollow"` in the markup, which is how search engines are told it is a commercial link.

Amazon links earn. Terry & Tub participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Several brands on this site earn us nothing. Matouk, Weezie and Quince sell direct and we have no affiliate arrangement with any of them. Their products appear on this site anyway, because leaving out the right answer to protect a commission would make the whole site worthless. Every page carrying one of those links says plainly that we earn nothing from it.

Recommending the wrong product earns a commission once and costs a reader forever. That is not a moral position so much as an arithmetic one -- a buying guide that cannot be trusted has no readers to monetize.

In practice that means the cheapest product is frequently the pick, products we earn nothing from appear regularly, and a large share of this site's content tells people not to buy anything at all. How to strip towels is one of our most useful pages and it sells nothing.

We do not display prices anywhere on this site. Prices change constantly, a stale number is worse than no number, and we will not publish a figure we cannot verify at the moment you read it. Buy buttons say "Check price on Amazon" and take you to the retailer's own current price.

This is a deliberate policy, not a technical limitation. If live price data is added later, every price shown will carry the date it was checked and will disappear automatically when it goes stale.

• Accept payment for coverage, for a superlative slot, or for a change to a verdict.
• Let a brand see a review before it publishes.
• Publish sponsored posts or paid guest content.
• Invent a price, a rating, a review count or a specification.
• Claim to have tested a product. We run no lab.

Clicking an affiliate link sets a cookie on the retailer's site that tells them we referred you. We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details or a list of what you bought -- only an aggregate report of commissions earned. More in the privacy policy.
